The short answer

How do you remind tenants that rent is due?

Nolan sends rent reminders before the 1st by text or email, on your schedule and in your words. When rent is late, it follows up politely and notes the tenant’s answer for your team. Before renewal season, it asks each tenant whether they plan to renew. It takes no payments and sends no legal notices.

  2. Set the schedule

When reminders go out, what they say and when renewal questions start.

  3. Nolan sends and follows up

Guides and tools on this topic

Questions before you start

Does Nolan collect rent?

No. It reminds tenants and follows up when rent is late. Payments stay with the system you use today.

Does it send renewal or rent increase notices?

No. Nolan asks tenants about their plans and tells your team. Legal notices stay with you.

Can I write the reminders myself?

Yes. Reminders go out in your words, on your schedule, by text or email.

How does Nolan know who has paid?

Your team marks rent paid from the Rent tab or a CSV. A tenant who says “I paid” is passed to your team to check.

Is it on by default?

No. Rent reminders and late-rent follow-ups each have their own switch.

When does it ask about renewals?

Ahead of each lease’s end, so your team knows in time to send its own notices.
